How much does a session cost?
Please see the pricing section on the website here
How much are the other images and products?
We are totally transparent with our prices so please contact me for a price guide. Our prices are competitive, reflect the very high standard of photography and are not negotiable.
Can I purchase digital files?
Yes of course you can. We understand how important it is to have the flexibility of a digital archive, so a complete or part set of digital images from your session is available for purchase. However, we do feel that the beautiful professional pictures that we are going to create deserve to be displayed on only the best quality products. We have a full range of luxury print collections, wall portraits and albums that can be bought either on their own or as part as a package that includes digital files. The printed image is the only safe way to archive our precious memories and ensure that your grand children will love the pictures as much as you do.
How do I choose and order my pictures?
Your beautifully enhanced images will be ready to view within three weeks of your session. You will then receive the login details to your own password protected gallery. You will have 48 hours in which to place your order.
Is there a minimum spend requirement?
Prices start at £350, but our clients typically spend between £750 and £2000 on various products including albums, wall portraits and digital image collections.
Do you have experience photographing newborn babies safely?
This is an excellent question and one that does not get asked enough. A typical newborn session can last up to four hours and your baby will be with me or my wife for most of that time. We have been photographing newborn babies for over six years (over 500 babies and counting!) and have been trained to handle and pose them safely. We also practice safe posing techniques and put the comfort and safety of your baby first. For more information on safety within the newborn photography industry please visit the BANPAS website.
Will flash photography harm my baby?
Absolutely not, I have never witnessed any reaction to the flash from newborn babies, asleep or awake. The light that is emitted from my studio equipment is no brighter than that which comes through your window at home on a bright overcast day.
Do I need to bring any props or accessories to my newborn session?
There is no need to as we have an Aladin's cave of beautiful props and accessories. However, if you have something special that you would like us to include in your pictures, please feel free to bring it along.
Can my older children be included in some pictures with my newborn baby?
Of course! Having a new baby in the family is a very exciting and special time for everyone. We would love to captutre that for you. There is no charge for other family members to take part in your session.
How soon should I book?
The best time to photograph newborns is between 7 and fourteen days with ten days old being ideal. You will need to book in your session well in advance so give us a call as soon as you know your due date. We will make a provisional booking for 10 days after your due date and we can amend it if your baby is early or late. Because newborn sessions can take up to four hours I only book them Monday to Friday and all newborn sessions start at 10am. Of course if you are running a little late that is fine. We only ever book in one newborn session a day so there is no rushing your baby.
My studio is open five days a week, Monday to Fridays. I am limited to three studio sessions a day: 10am, 12pm, and 3pm.
Always book a session that fits in best with your child’s routine, hungry and tired babies and children are much more challenging to photograph!
What clothes should I wear for our session?
A beautiful famly portrait is all about the emotion. It really is not that important what you wear as long as you all match. However, I do think that more plain clothes work better than bright colours and bold patterns. See examples in my gallery pages to see what really works well.
